Neurological and Mental Development of Low-Birth~ Weight Infants (A Preliminary Report)

Fifty- two low birth weight infants were examined with a minimal age of 2 years and nine months old.
 Neurologic abnormalities very high (38.8%). Convulsions predominate the other (21.2%). followed by respectively cerebral palsy, multiple handicapped, mental retardation, behaviour disorders, speech problems, hearing defect abnormalities.
 Neuroiogic impairments found more in group children between 2000 - 2500 grams; on appropriate for their gestational compared to small children.
 Intelligence tests 27 revealed approximately 50% had an I.Q. below normal range.
 A remarkably incidence abnormal EEG recordings (50%) detected, even neurologically did not reveal distinct correlation outcome these infants.
